Mobile Conference - A revolution in the user experience

Mobile Voice Conference explores major trends driving user interaction with technology

The program topics for fifth annual Mobile Voice Conference, April 20-21, 2015 in San Jose, California, have been published at The conference addresses trends that will drive much of technology that connects with individuals over the next decade. Those trends include:

  • Applications will adapt to the more limited screens of mobile devices with appropriate user interfaces that differ substantially from PCs, including an option for hands-free use.
  • Speech recognition, text-to-speech synthesis, natural language interpretation and supporting technologies will continually improve.
  • “Conversational” interfaces for specialized applications will proliferate as successful applications show the way and development tools become easier to use, in part because general personal assistants such as Apple’s Siri, Google’s voice search, and Microsoft’s Cortana will popularize natural language interaction.
  • Individuals calling customer service lines will expect a conversational experience.
  • Conversational interfaces will make enterprise applications more effective and the employee experience more efficient and help overcome “digital overload.”
  • “Chatvertising” will become a major way to engage customers and a major advertising trend.
  • New interactive entertainment options using speech technology will develop, ranging from toys to social robots to interactive audiobooks.
